Beauty, Brains, + the Bible: What is the Difference Between Escort Cards + Place Cards?

Terminology getting a little confusing? Wedding lingo may seem like a foreign language, but no worries – we will have you schooled in no time! This week’s Beauty, Brains, + the Bible post features our expertise on escort and place cards, and how to elevate those designs to make your wedding a night to remember.

Escort Cards contain the guest’s name and table number.  These are typically placed in a foyer or entryway to your reception. Your guests will grab this and be escorted to a certain table. We recommend condensing your list by family, rather than printing individual names, unless these are to act as meal designators too. They can include titles, such as Mr./Mrs., or simply have the first and last name listed.

BP Creative Group specializes in escort card installations (see image below for a recent example) that are sure to take your guests’ breath away as soon as they enter the reception. Our team always comes on-site to place menus, signage, and install or setup the escort card display. Escort card installations can act as a welcome sign or even a photo opportunity! Thinking outside of the box when it comes to your escort card display is a must if you want to set your wedding apart from the rest.

Place Cards are personalized cards pre-placed at the table. These may contain meal designations or be color coded. This is where you can get a little more personal with names or nicknames! We love to personalize each guests’ menu to include the place card, depending on what our clients’ style and place settings look like. Our team also sets these items up, placing them with care at each guests’ place setting, to ensure that the entire table comes together beautifully!

We are excited to see these as design elements incorporated into the branding of the reception, rather than the same ‘ole tented style. Part of our offering in The Wedding Brand Experience ™ service is going through every detail of your wedding with a fine-tooth comb to make sure that every design element, from floral pieces to decor to linens and napkins, speaks to the event’s vision and is consistent throughout. BP Creative Group will make your wedding unforgettable with a breathtaking escort card display or unique, fun place cards!
