Pretty Pretty Pinterest – Issue 01

It’s all a dream…

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!

Lewis Carroll’s beloved character Alice fell asleep on the side of a riverbank one afternoon and dreamt about her wild adventures in Wonderland. Of course, she believed the dream was reality while she was asleep. We all know how easy it is to get caught up in a dream and lose sight of reality, especially when it comes to weddings. A dream is an excellent place to start, but it’s important to have realistic expectations and an experienced creative team in place to ensure that your vision can be executed.

Social media platforms like Pinterest can be useful for gathering ideas and brainstorming themes, but many brides tend to fall down the rabbit hole of perfectly styled shoots and luxurious weddings as they scroll. Curled up on the couch late at night adding image after image to a “Dream Wedding” board on Pinterest, we can fall victim to the stylized photos from magazines and celebrity weddings, which undoubtedly had extravagant budgets and unfettered access to the best vendors in the country. No matter how beautiful these celebrations may have been, do you want your wedding to look like a compilation of other brides’ Pinterest boards? Wouldn’t you rather be lauded for original, creative, out-of-the-box ideas that others are inclined to indulge in and copy?

It’s time we say “Off with her head!” to the Pinterest planning process, and take a customized approach to the design of your wedding. Our team is known in the industry for taking a theme, concept or idea and turning it into reality on a comprehensive event vision board, complete with color palettes and full-size renderings of installations and decor. Follow along with our Pretty Pretty Pinterest series to learn how to implement event design strategies, using Pinterest purely as inspiration.
