All The Particulars
You may have not realized it yet and maybe you never did, but when you step into the studio of BP Creative Group, you can’t see it, but the walls are covered in anxiety, tears, fears, a few curse words, worry, and a few more curse words. What you can see is elation! We’re getting down to the nitty gritty and the beef we have with the word “bossy.” Thanks to our friend Merriam-Webster, bossy (adjective): ‘inclined to domineer’, and with this we are inclined to address such meaning of bossy. As a female-owned business, we take pride in the assertive work we do each day to become innovators and industry leaders.
We take some heat for being “bossy,” but the word bossy has a negative connotation that implies someone is being unnecessarily demanding or even rude. Demanding excellence in our craft, mulling over or even reworking time and time again, and striving to think outside of the box doesn’t make us bossy…it makes us particular. One of our 2019 goals is to replace bossy with particular in everyone’s vernacular.
No right-minded business owner wakes up and thinks, today I will be as bossy as can be and fill the environment with toxic, insincere behavior. They wake up and say, I’m giving it all I’ve got – for me, my family, my clients, my reputation, my passion, my heart and soul. Every ounce of the particular craft and work we do is for the clients’ best interest. Always! So, the next time you hear the word bossy, even spoken to little girls and boys, remember that pushing for excellence is a particular way of thinking. Not everyone has the guts to say it or do it – but commend the boss, big or small, and enjoy all the particulars along the way.
